Wedding Florals: June Flowers

June is here and with it brings new blooms for blushing brides! Here are a few of our favorite June buds.

Gerbera Daisy - These bright and fantastically large flowers come in nearly every color (except true blues and purples) and carry long, thick, sturdy stems. They are the fifth most popular flower in the world according to ProFlowers.com.  Gerbera daisies can mean innocence, purity, and cheerfulness.

Cornflower - Also often called bachelor's button, bluebottle, or boutonniere flowerthese mini carnations-like flower are delicately fragrant and range in deep blues to light purples. Cornflowers are know for representing wealth, prosperity, fortune, and friendship.

Alstroemeria - Commonly called a Peruvian Lily, Alstroemeria symbolizes friendship and devotion, and the twists in the flower symbolize the trials and tribulations of friendships. These cluster flowers come in many shades of red, orange, purple, green, and white and are flecked with darker colors. 

Roses - Roses come in every color of the rainbow.  Their scents can range from bold to barely there.  Roses blooms also vary in petal type ranging from single-flat flowers to miniature to full and rounded. Each color has a distinct meaning associated with them. For example, red  signifies enduring passion; white, humility and innocence; and purple representing love at first sight. 

Freesia - Freesias are one of the most heavily scented flowers.  These bell-shaped blooms have five to ten single or double flowers per stem, with little to no foliage. Freesia comes in white, golden yellow, orange, red, pink, mauve, lavender, and dark purple.

Peonies - Peonies are a Springtime favorite!  Lush full rounded blooms, these large fragrant blooms come in reds, pinks, oranges, corals, whites and more. Peonies are known as the flower of riches and honor, and are regarded as an omen of good fortune and a happy marriage.
