Pantone Spring 2016 Colors

Pantone forecasted IT colors of Spring 2016 have been announced! We already showcased the Colors of the Year, Rose Quartz & Serenity, so today we are sharing the other top 10 colors for men's and women's fashion for Spring 2016. We are noticing there is a nice mix of soft and very vibrant colors in this color set.

From Pantone: "Spring 2016: A Transporting and Transformative Canvas. Colors this season transcend cultural and gender norms. Vivid brights give way to excitement and optimism, though quiet stability prevails in this season’s palette.

Influenced by the world of art, new global doors opening and the desire to disconnect from technology and unwind, designers this season have gravitated toward a palette that is first and foremost calming. Paying homage to the beauty of natural resources, colors emerging in the Spring collections serve as vehicles that transport wearers to more tranquil, mindful environs which encourage relaxation first, followed by curiosity and exploration.

Designers were also inspired by the contrast of urban design and lush vegetation, leading to unexpected color combinations and collections reminiscent of architecture, travel and nostalgia. By creating looks that truly represent the world we live in, both constructed and organic, designers sought to awaken a sense of reflection, followed by playful escapism. Artists, many of whom are known for bold color usage and strong shapes and lines, played an influential role in this season's styles – from Matisse, Picasso and Frank Stella to Esther Stewart and Sam Falls. With Cuba and other destinations south of the border top of mind, designers are playing with courageous color statements that aren't afraid to be vibrant but at the same time are combined with quieting, classic and more natural tones.

'Colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves,' said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. 'With our culture still surrounded by so much uncertainty, we are continuing to yearn for those softer shades that offer a sense of calm and relaxation'."

The top ten colors for men's and women's fashion for Spring 2016 are:

Dried Herb: Pantones 2015 Fall Wedding Color Inspiration

The fifth color in our Wedding Color Inspiration Series featuring Pantones 2015 Fall Colors is Dried Herb. This lovely olive green color is the perfect base color when creating a lovely, rustic, neutral color scheme. We love it paired with soft grey and camel -inspired by our Pacific Northwest landscape and skies.  Invoking thoughts of the outdoors and rustic comfort, Dried Herb green is the perfect Fall or Winter color inspiration.

"An olive green shade once thought of as strictly safari or military, PANTONE 17-0627 Dried Herb has been elevated into a color we now perceive as sophisticated and chic. Closely related to nature, Dried Herb is an organic shade redolent of nature's earthy fragrances." Pantone

Pantone Fall 2015

From Pantone: "This season displays an umbrella of accord that weaves earthy neutrals with a range of bold color statements and patterns to reflect a landscape of hope, fun, fantasy and all things natural. The colors are evocative of a love for nature and a timeless appreciation for warmth and security, which are conveyed through naturally inspired colors that remind us of things that are real and protective.

This Fall, designers’ pay homage to progressive moments in American history – from the seductive ‘20s to the bohemian hippie and modernists of the ‘60s and ‘70s – while stringing together an affection for colors and styling that are innately easy to wear by both men and women.

The Fall 2015 palette is rooted in multi-faceted, androgynous colors that can be worn to portray effortless sophistication across men’s and women’s fashion; it is the first time we are seeing a truly unisex color palette."
