Embracing color inspiration from sea glass and the sea itself, this navy, mint and gold, Simple Yet Elegant On The Beach Wedding really inspired us, so much that this wedding is what we choose to use for our 2016 B&E Puget Sound Wedding Resource Guide cover! Beautifully captured by Momentous Image, get ready to drift away with inspiration from this Washington Island wedding.
From the Photographer: "Julia and Luke wanted to do something different. Whidbey Island is a special place to both of them so when they had the opportunity to get married on the waters edge in the backyard of a beautiful home there, it was their dream come true. They used the backyard overlooking the Puget Sound for the ceremony and dinner and wrapped up the evening with dancing inside the house.
By keeping the guest list intimate Julia and Luke were able to spend time with their guests. 'The wedding was the last party of the week so we really had time to enjoy our family and friends who had traveled great lengths to celebrate our marriage.' The result was that Julia and Luke have the most incredible memories from their wedding."
From the bride: “The wedding was such a special memory for Luke and I because we felt like we really got to be with the people that had put forth so much effort to be there for us. We were so thankful and loved getting to spend time with them, whether it was playing yard games, eating barbecue, or cutting it up on the dance floor. We loved getting married overlooking the bay and were honored to have the people who mean so much to us there for such an important day. It was simple (at least compared to most Texas weddings) and it was elegant. It was a lovely day. We truly didn’t want to leave. Our memories are so fond and we are so thankful for such a wonderful wedding.”
“Luke and I wanted to make our wedding special and different. I am from Texas and knew that weddings could get large and overdone. We had been up to Whidbey Island several times while we were dating and during our engagement. It became a very special place for us. When the opportunity to have our wedding at this wonderful home happened, we couldn’t pass it up.
Everyone started gathering on Whidbey Island the week before the wedding. We had so much fun with all of our friends and family and are so thankful to each and everyone of them that made the journey to come celebrate with us!”
"The bridesmaids wore different gowns in hues of blue. The groomsmen were in grey suits with navy bow ties. The groom wore a navy suit and a black bow tie. The colors were not overpowering but tied everything into the beach-theme well."
